Mission Complete: CO-CHPS

Mission Complete: CO-CHPS We are pleased to be a member of the construction team to build the first Collaborative for High Performance Schools in the state of Colorado (CO-CHPS).  Headed up by JHL Constructors, The Alta Vista Charter School was built in a little over (8) months, starting just after Christmas of 2010 and completing August 2011.  This school pays tribute to the original school built in 1917.  We have worked with JHL for many years on countless projects and we especially thank them for this opportunity to work with them again.  We appreciate them putting their trust in us to …

Why We Do What We Do

Why We Do What We Do I have a pretty interesting job.  As a bi-product of actually furnishing/installing operable walls, I learn a lot about many different industries.  I see lots of different job sites, meet lots of different people and work on buildings for lots of different companies.  Another bi-product of my interesting job is how dangerous being on a construction site can actually be.  Of course, we all take precautions by attending safety meetings, wearing the proper protective gear like hard hats safety glasses & boots, but we seldom get the chance to show our families where we a …

My Big-Fat Greek.....Operable Wall

My Big-Fat  GREEK...Operable Wall I attended a cousin's wedding this past weekend at Stonebrook Manor, an event center located in the north end of the Denver, CO metro area.  It was a nice ceremony held outside in their beautiful gardens.   The reception was held immediately afterward in their event hall.  The food and entertainment was great.  Being a wall-guy, I couldn't help but notice the operable walls that divided the space.  Turns out, there was another wedding party on the other side of the wall at the same time.  The acoustic carp …

Refinishing Operable Partitions   When the idea of refinishing your operable partition becomes a reality, there are factors to consider that will allow or inhibit the process to go smoothly.  In most cases, operable partitions are covered with a vinyl fabric.  If this is the case on your partition, the application of new wall covering is fairly quick and simple.  There is no need to remove the old vinyl unless the new vinyl does not have any texture.  The texture on the new wall covering hides the texture of the wall covering from being visible through i …
